Hey Beach: How a Handwritten Font Became My Secret Weapon for Campaign Visuals

The 9 AM Panic: Designing for a Summer Product Launch

It was 9:03 AM and the summer product launch visuals were still missing something. The mockups looked clean, the color palette was on brand, but the headlines felt flat. I cycled through font options trying to find the right tone—something playful but professional, casual yet confident. That’s when I opened the Hey Beach preview.

Hey Beach is a Script Amp font designed with a warm, handwritten charm that instantly adds personality. It’s not overly decorative, which makes it perfect for digital marketing where clarity and character need to work together. I dropped it into the main headline of the campaign banner and saw the shift immediately—more approachable, more human.

From Thumbnails to Social Posts: Where Hey Beach Shines

I used Hey Beach across multiple touchpoints: YouTube thumbnails, Instagram Stories, Pinterest pins, and email banners. Each platform has its own visual rhythm, but the font held its own across all of them. For the YouTube thumbnails, I used it in a bold layout with a sun graphic behind it—perfect for a summer skincare line. On Pinterest, I layered it over pastel backgrounds for quote-based pins that felt personal and inviting.

What I found was that Hey Beach works best for short, punchy text. It’s not ideal for long paragraphs, but as a headline or callout font, it grabs attention without overwhelming the viewer. I used it for taglines like “Feel the Summer Vibes” and “New Launch Alert” and saw a noticeable improvement in visual flow.

Message Clarity and Campaign Consistency

In fast-scrolling feeds, the first impression matters. Hey Beach’s casual style adds a sense of warmth and authenticity that resonates with younger audiences. I made sure to pair it with a clean sans serif for body copy to maintain readability and visual hierarchy. The contrast between the handwritten charm of Hey Beach and the crisp structure of the sans serif helped guide the eye naturally.

For a webinar promotion I was designing, I used Hey Beach as the title font on the registration banner. It gave the event a friendly, approachable feel—perfect for a session called “Summer Marketing Hacks.” The font also scaled well on mobile previews, which was a big win since most of our audience would see it on their phones.

Design Tips for Using Hey Beach

Real Campaign Examples That Worked

For an Instagram content series promoting a new line of beachwear, I used Hey Beach as the main text overlay on carousel images. Each post had a different color scheme, but the consistent use of the font tied the visuals together. One post with the text “Your Summer Look Starts Here” got more saves and shares than any other in the series.

In a separate email campaign for a seasonal sale, we used Hey Beach for the header: “Up to 50% Off—End of Season Blowout.” It stood out in the inbox and helped reinforce the friendly, limited-time tone of the message. The font gave the campaign a more boutique-style feel, which aligned with the brand’s personality.

Font Pairing Made Easy

One of the biggest design wins with Hey Beach was how easily it paired with other fonts. I used it alongside a minimalist serif for packaging mockups and even layered it over a second script font in a limited way for a branded quote graphic. The key was to let Hey Beach be the standout element while supporting it with more neutral typography.

For a landing page header, I used Hey Beach for the main headline and a bold sans serif for the subheader. The result was a clean, modern layout with a touch of warmth. It felt intentional without being overdesigned.

Technical Notes Every Marketer Should Know

Before using Hey Beach in any client or commercial project, I double-checked the licensing—it’s important to ensure the font can be used in digital ads, templates, and branded content. I also made sure to review the included styles, ligatures, and alternate characters to get the most out of the design flexibility.

The font comes in multiple file formats, which made it easy to use across design tools like Canva, Photoshop, and Figma. Multilingual support was another plus, especially since part of the campaign included Spanish-language assets.

Why Hey Beach Stuck Around in My Design Kit

Hey Beach isn’t just another trendy font. It’s one of those design assets that feels both current and timeless. It brings a sense of authenticity and warmth that’s hard to replicate with more structured typefaces. Whether I’m designing a promotional graphic or a branded content set, I know I can reach for Hey Beach when I need something that feels personal but polished.

After using it across a full summer campaign, I can say it’s earned a permanent spot in my go-to font list. If you’re looking for a handwritten Script Amp font that works across digital platforms, adds personality without sacrificing clarity, and helps your message stand out in a crowded feed—Hey Beach is worth a try.
